The beaded necklace is used by many religions as a prayer necklace. Repetitious prayers are recited and the finger moves to the next bead after each prayer, helping the person keep track of how many prayers have been said. Jesus cautions us against repetitious prayers, as he taught the discples how to pray. The prayer Jesus taught them was not meant to be a repetitious prayer, but a guideline for how to pray. God wants to us to acknowledge our sin, reconciled and forgive our enemies and to keep in mind that God is our provider and sourece of every good thing.
